MICHIGAN
ASSOCIATION
FOR PURE BRED DOGS
Michigan Association for Pure Bred Dogs
(MAPBD) is a Michigan non-profit organization,
founded in 1964 and incorporated in 1965.  Its
membership consists of individuals as well as
several dozen dog clubs, the majority of which
are AKC Licensed and Member Clubs.  This
includes all-breed kennel clubs, specialty clubs,
obedience clubs, agility clubs, herding clubs, and
lure coursing clubs.
ABOUT MAPBD

There are no paid staff members and all work is accomplished by volunteer
efforts.

From its beginning, MAPBD has promoted responsible dog ownership in
Michigan.  However, with each passing year, due to increased pressure from
well-funded national animal rights groups, MAPBD has had to dramatically
increase its effective volunteer lobbying efforts.  As a result MAPBD must
budget significant amounts of money to consistently lobby at both state and
municipal levels to keep Michigan a dog-friendly state.

We invite you to explore our website and learn more about us and the work
our members do to protect Michigan dogs.

We also urge you and your club to get involved and Join MAPBD.
